    GooseBerry needs your Phone number and Email credentials to be able to send you the Emails on your phone. Our registration is very simple, and will take under a minute to complete! We do not ask for more information that absolutely necessary to make this service available to you.

  • Can I register through sending a SMS?
    You can register with GooseBerry by sending a simple SMS to 56070 / 919910450298 * , in the following format:
    KITS <Emailid> <password of email account>

  • Will my mobile number/Email Id be safe?
    GooseBerry has strict policies for preserving the user mobile numbers/Email ids. They are secure and safe. We do not share, sell or rent any of your information with anyone. The system is designed such that your confidential information is not available to anyone. The information is keep encrypted on our servers.

  • How can I change my password?
    After successful login you can change your password. The new password should be same as you are using for login to your Email account.

  • I forgot my password. What should I do?
    Your GooseBerry password is same as your Email password. Please contact your Email provider to get a new password or reset the old password. Please change your password in GooseBerry in case you chnage your password in your Email system, otherwise GooseBerry will not be able to connect to your Email system.

  • What happens to dormant accounts?
    Dormant accounts i.e. accounts that are in STOP mode for more than 1 year will be removed from the system.

  • How do I limit the number of SMS alert that I receive?
    You can limit the number of SMS alert that you receive, by using Allowed list and Blocked list.

  • What is allowed/blocked list?
    Allowed and Blocked lists define the filters on your Emails. In allowed/blocked list you can specify keyword separated by commas(,). The specified keywords are searched in Email Id, subject or body of Email. Email is sent as SMS only if none of the blocked keywords are found and atleast one of the allowed keyword is found.

  • Is it possible to add keywords to allowed/blocked list by sending a SMS?
    To add keywords in the lists send a SMS to 56070 / 919910450298 * in following format:
    For allowed list:
        KITS allow <comma(,) separated keywords>
    For blocked list:
        KITS block <comma(,) separated keywords>

  • What will happen if I specify keyword in both list (allowed list and blocked list)?
    In this case, Only those SMS alerts are allowed that satisfy both criteria.
    e.g. If in allowed list you specify like: [khushiiit, Bhoolgaya, GooseBerry] and in blocked list like: [virus, warm, trojen-horse]. In this case GooseBerry will allow only those Emails that contains any keywords from allowed list (khushiiit, Bhoolgaya, GooseBerry) and will not allow the mails those contains keyword from blocked list (virus, warm, trojen-horse) in the Email address, subject or in the body of the Email.

  • Does it cost anything to receive an SMS alert?
    There is no charge over and above you have paid for GooseBerry subscription to receive SMS. For the SMS you send from your phone charges as indicated by your phone service provider will apply.

  • How can I buy credits or recharge my account for continuing my SMS alerts?
    After you register and logged into GooseBerry you will see an option near the bottom of the page "Recharge your Plan" to buy the credits.

  • My friend sent me an Email and I did not receive it on SMS alert. Why?
    It could be because of anyone of the two reasons-
    1. That Email could not pass through the filters set by you
    2. That Email has already been either read/downloaded using POP/IMAP or deleted by you

  • Can I get delivery reports for Emails sent via SMS?
    Yes, for each reply sent from the Mobile number registered in the GooseBerry registration, the status report on the Mobile phone is received upon delivery of the SMS.

  • Why is there a delay between sending a message and receiving the delivery report?
    While there will always be some delay between sending messages and receiving delivery reports this is usually for only a few minutes (or even seconds). These delays can be caused by problems such as poor network coverage (due to poor signal or high traffic) or handset failure (due to battery or a full message 'INBOX').

  • I replied to an Email but I received an error message on my mobile, Why?
    The Email to which you replied should exist on your Email server. If you have either downloaded or deleted the message you cannot send replies to that message.

  • If I delete my account what will happen?
    Your account information will be deleted from the GooseBerry system and your notification will stop. Also you will loose any pending credits linked to this account.

  • Are Replying, getting next part of Email or starting/stopping service using SMS charged ?
    GooseBerry does not charge any amount for these features. However since the SMS is sent to a short code, your service provider will charge between Rs 1 to Rs 3 per SMS! We suggest you to use them only when it justifies the cost while we are working on a solution to save this unnecessary cost for you.

  • Why am I charged premium fees for SMS and not a regular SMS charge ?
    This charging structure is decided by your operator. We understand that this makes Replying to messages costlier, however we decided to take this route to at least give our customers a choice of replying when it makes sense for them. We are also working parallely to find a solution wherein you need not pay any special costs for sending these SMS. We will keep you intimating of progress on this front.

  • Why should I use GooseBerry and not GPRS based mobiles for fetching my Emails ?
    Some of the possible reasons are :
    1. GPRS is PULL based solution which means you will always need to check yourself if there is a new Email, while GooseBerry will push the Email to you.
    2. GPRS will deliver ALL Emails in your inbox cluttering it with messages you might not want at this moment, while in GooseBerry you will only get Emails you are waiting for.
    3. Most GPRS clients might download the complete Emails including attachments which will be time consuming and might even not be possible on your phone while GooseBerry will only send you the body, subject, sender and attachment file name of Emails and it will always be one SMS.
    4. Last but not the least GooseBerry will work anywhere your phone works in India while GPRS based phones will work only where you have GPRS network available.

  • My company Emails are hosted inside a firewall and are not available on internet without VPN ? How can I use GooseBerry ?

  • Why do I need to use my Email password to register ? Is it secure ?
    Your Email password is required so that GooseBerry can contact your Email provider to find if any new Emails have arrived and to notify you of the same. We realize that this is a confidential information. We have taken following steps to ensure that it is protected securely.
    1. Your Login, Registration and Account management happens over HTTPS, which means it is difficult for any person to catch this information from web. Your web Email login also uses the same way to secure your information.
    2. Your password is stored on our system in encrypted format.
    3. We ensure that even the encrypted information is stored with utmost care and only a selected people have access to it.

    As an alternative you can setup another Email address to which you can forward the Emails from your original account and use the new account to register in GooseBerry.
    Of course you can change your Email password anytime and prevent GooseBerry from accessing your account. You are in charge of your Email accounts.
